We are a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America. We are a
biblical,
confessional,
and historical church.
We are biblical, which means that we believe that the Bible is the Word
of God, revealing judgment and mercy through word and deed, beginning
with the Word in creation, continuing in the history of Israel, and
centering in all its fullness in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Through the Holy
Scriptures, God's Spirit speaks to us to create and sustain Christian
faith and fellowship for service to the world.
We are confessional, which means that we accept the Unaltered Augsburg
Confession as a true witness to the Gospel. We also accept the other
confessional writings in the Book of Concord as further valid
interpretations of the faith of the Church.
We are an historical church, grounded in the witness of the early church
as it lived out our Lord's command to baptize in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
At Trinity, we celebrate the Holy Eucharist, or Lord's Supper, every
week. The Sacrament is the fullest expression of the Good News that
Christ has died, Christ is risen, and Christ will come again. As we
gather around the Table to receive his body and blood, we are reminded
that we are children of the Father; a household of faith, hope and love.
At Trinity we have many reasons to rejoice.
We rejoice that we are
forgiven through God's grace.
We rejoice that,
through the Holy Spirit, we are called, gathered, enlightened and made
holy.
We rejoice that we are sent out to share, in word and deed, the
Good News of what Jesus Christ has done for us.
"Marked with the cross of Christ forever, we are claimed, gathered, and
sent for the sake of the world."
